Montessori Bound

We officially made the decision today to enroll Marlee in a Montessori school for the fall.  She'll be going two days a week, Thursday and Friday, from 8:45-11:45.  She really loves going to daycare one morning a week now, and we know she'll be ready for more in a few months.  We are also confident that she'll do well in a Montessori program.  I'm excited for her!

No Deal

on the house.  Oh well.  We were really cautious about it from the start.  We have a new plan for selling quick, so hopefully we'll have some luck soon!

First Dentist Appointment

Marlee June had her first dentist appointment this week.  I've been meaning to make one for a while, and when she fell and chipped a tooth, I made the call.  Fortunately, the chip is so many that it won't require any work.  Dr. Bob says it will smooth itself out with time.  Unfortunately, she really doesn't like the dentist.

Dr. Bob said we should encourage her to eat things like apples that require her to use her front teeth,  so when she begged for a whole apple this morning, we couldn't say no.
I usually give her snacks in little glass ramekins, and she had one on the coffee table from an earlier snack.  She carried her apple into the living room and put it in the ramekin.  It's very convenient.  She can just come buy and take a bite...she dosn't even need to pick it up ;).

E for Effort

I introduced the potty few months ago, and Marlee has been potty-learning.  Basically, we're just getting used to having a potty in the bathroom, talking about what it's for, and occasionally sitting on it.  She's peed in it a couple of times, and even pooped once, just because I caught her in the nick of time.

Today I was emptying the dishwasher when I heard her in the bathroom.  I went in, and she was sitting on the potty, fully clothed, cleary concentrating on her business.  I said, "Marlee, are you pooping?"  She nodded, then clapped her hands and said, "Yay!"

Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

Actually, we already went to the zoo, but it makes me sing the Raffi song.  If you don't know the Raffi song, nevermind :).

This panda is a new mommy.  She's sleeping.  Lucky Mama.

Marlee liked the Asian Small-clawed River Otters best.

The lions were my favorite.  Not a great picture, though.

Up close and personal with a gorilla.

Christmas Pictures!

Some pictures of our cutie on Christmas for your enjoyment.  I'll upload the rest to Shutterfly soon so you can see them all!
